BruderHilfe was in Kano state, to implement a Rural Development Project for hard-to-reach remote communities in the state; on Monday the 27th of November, 2023; in partnership with the Foundation for Social Orientation and Gender Development.
The Program was held at the Kano Anti-Corruption Institute and included: Donation of 50 Multipurpose Mobility Carts to Persons with disabilities, and Provisions of other Mobility Aids; Donations of Books & Educational materials to Public Schools; Donations of Basic living necessities to residents in rural communities; Donations of Maternal & New-born kits to Nursing mothers and Pregnant women and Donations of Medical Supplies and mobility aids to the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Dala, Kano, of which items donated include: wheelchair, walkers, crutches , bed liners adult Pampers , medical Supplies and Consumables.
The BruderHilfe team led by the Executive Director, Mrs. Mary Oluwabamigbe Bruder, first visited the office of our partners in Kano, the Foundation for Social Orientation and Gender Development; in preparation for the upcoming project.
The team met with the Board members and Staff of the organization, and were welcomed by the Chairperson, Mariya Inuwa Durumin-Iya, who appreciated BruderHilfe for the generous donations and Support. The Chairperson and board intimated Mrs. Bruder on the areas of the organization’s focus areas, and the areas where the organization needs the most Support and intervention.
The Rural Development Project in Kano state, Nigeria, was a huge Success! As evidenced by the feedback by beneficiaries and testimony from invited guests and stakeholders present at the event.
Donations were distributed accordingly, and beneficiaries were enlightened on how the mobility carts and other donations would greatly improve their lives, and all were inspired to see possibilities and opportunities, in the midst of their situation.
The Project has set a precedence for other upcoming development projects in Kano and other parts of Northern Nigeria. The BruderHilfe Team also got to be enlightened on the areas of focus for future projects in Kano and other parts of Northern Nigeria, and how to best reach the people most in need of aid and development.
